The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency’s (CINEA) mission is to support stakeholders in delivering the European Green Deal through the efficient and effective implementation of its delegated programmes.

EU-Central Asia Cooperation on Water-Environment-Climate Change (WECOOP)

The EU–Central Asia Platform on Environment and Water Cooperation was established in 2009, with Italy as lead country, as the reference framework for the cooperation between EU and Central Asian countries in the field of environment, water and climate change. The EU renewed the project “European Union – Central Asia Water, Environment and Climate Change Cooperation (WECOOP)” in October 2019 to run until April 2023.  Hydro4U was connected via several events.

FIThydro

FIThydro (Fishfriendly Innovative Technologies for Hydropower) is a project funded under the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (GA No. 727830) coordinated by the Technical University of Munich. It addresses the decision support in commissioning and operating hydropower plants (HPP) by use of existing and innovative technologies. It concentrates on mitigation measures and strategies to develop cost-efficient environmental solutions and on strategies to avoid individual fish damage and enhancing population developments. Therefore, HPPs all over Europe are involved as test sites.

HyPeak

HyPeak (Hydropeaking Research Network) is an expert network that seeks to enhance scientific exchange and support stakeholders, policy makers and practitioners in the field of hydropeaking.

LIFE NEXUS

LIFE NEXUS is a project funded under the LIFE Programme (Ref. LIFE17 ENV/ES/000252) coordinated by CARTIF Technology Centre. It aims at boosting the sustainability of the urban water cycle by means of the energy harvest using micro-hydropower technology.

ETIP HYDROPOWER

ETIP HYDROPOWER brings together representatives from industry, academia, research centers, civil society, and associations to monitor and track the research activities for the hydropower sector and underline the importance of hydropower in the energy transition.

ReHydro

ReHydro, funded by the HORIZON EUROPE Programme and led by SINTEF, aims to modernize European hydropower for future energy systems. By using digital tools and innovative concepts like retrofitting and hybridization, it will enhance efficiency while ensuring sustainability and societal alignment in the face of climate change.

iAMP-Hydro

The iAMP-Hydro project: “intelligent Asset Management Platform for Hydropower”, coordinated by Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), will enhance the digital operation of existing plants through the development of new digital sensors and services which will collectively form iAMP – a novel intelligent Asset Management Platform encompassing secure open and transparent data-sharing protocols and three novel digital solutions.

D-HYDROFLEX

The D-HYDROFLEX project: “Digital solutions for improving the sustainability performance and FLEXibility potential of HYDROpower assets” coordinated by NOVA TELECOMMUNICATIONS (Greece), addresses the development of a toolkit of digital tools for digitally ‘renovating’ the existing hydro-electric power plants making them more efficient, more sustainable and more flexible.

Di-Hydro | Digital maintenance for sustainable and flexible operation of HYDROpower plant

Di-Hydro is a European-funded project committed to advancing the potential of hydropower (HP) plants and clusters in alignment with the ambitious goals of the European Green Deal and the Paris Agreement.
The mission is to revolutionise the way hydropower plants operate, making them smarter, more efficient, and environmentally conscious.

WE-ACT

The WE-ACT project will change the game in transboundary water allocation and management by introducing a revolutionary Decision Support System (DSS) that optimizes shared benefits and enhances resilience in the face of a rapidly changing climate. The overarching goal of the WE-ACT project is to assist decision-makers in transboundary rivers in achieving equitable allocation of transboundary water among various sectors and users. This will be accomplished through the use of inclusive, future-focused, and climate risk-aware hydro-meteorological monitoring network, water allocation planning and management processes.
